Characteristics of active substances

Glucosamine sulphate works as a basic building block in the formation of cartilage, connective tissues, hair, nails, tendons as well as heart valves. Glucosamine is the body’s natural substance as it is formed in our body. It is a substance derived from glucose and involved in the formation of hyaluronic acid which forms the main filler of fluids in the joints and surrounding tissues. Glucosamine provides nutrition to the joints and it is also helpful at and after sprain treatment. Excellent results have been achieved in combination with glucosamine chondroitin.

Chondroitin sulphate is a part of the extracellular mass in the cartilage. It is a polysaccharide which osmotically retains water in the cartilage. Sufficient amount of water in the cartilage improves its flexibility and reduces stress on the joints while walking. A long-term use (at least 2 months) has beneficial effects against pain and inflammation in arthritic joints. Chondroitin sulphate also helps stop the loss of articular cartilage, which frequently accompanies arthrosis.

Boswelia serrata has been known for its high anti-inflammatory properties for thousands of years. Its antioxidant effect protects us against free radicals, which, besides other side effects, cause the joint damage. It also relieves pain and improves joint mobility. The anti-inflammatory effects of the extract are comparable to the synthetically produced medicaments, which has been proved by numerous clinical studies. The main component of the extract is boswellic acid, which has a beneficial effect on osteoarthritis symptoms and joints reducing their morning stiffness.

MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is an organic form of sulfur. It participates in the formation of collagen. Organic sulfur possesses healing properties and helps wash away harmful substances from the body. In its pure form it is a white powder without the typical sulfur smell. Currently, MSM is waiting for further research and confirmation of many of its positive antioxidant and detoxification effects. MSM has positive effects on the inflammation and joint pain and is very suitable for arthrosis. It stimulates metabolism and the function of articular cartilage.

Colagen is a fibrous, water-insoluble protein, which is a natural part of living organisms. It constitutes 30% of all proteins in the human body. Collagen is absolutely indispensable as the human body, made up of 70% water, would otherwise be almost in a liquid form. It can be found in tissues such as cartilage, tendons and bones and provides them with ideal properties. A cartilage with plenty of collagen is healthy and elastic and ensures smooth and painless movement. It encases the cartilage, protects the joints and reduces friction in the bones.

Vitamin C is a well-known potent antioxidant, taking a vital part in collagen formation. Vitamin C contributes to the proper function of bones, cartilages and joints. It inhibits the secretion of histamine from blood vessel walls into the joints, which is the main cause of inflammations leading to the joint problems. It also supports the proper functioning of the immune system, protects against oxidative stress, and also relieves symptoms of exhaustion and fatigue.

Curcumin is good for the overall health of the musculoskeletal system and skin. It contains bioactive phenolics – flavonoids, flavan and flavanols which are very powerful natural antioxidants protecting the human body against a free radical damage. Its anti-inflammatory and cleansing effects help to heal wounds, relieve the pain in the joints and contribute to their proper, normal function. It reduces the production of inflammatory substances so joints do not suffer from the inflammatory damage.

Manganese is an indispensable element for the health of the whole skeleton and connective tissues. It contributes to the formation of cartilage, bones and soft tissues. Manganese belongs to the trace elements that are essential for the proper function of the human organism. It participates in a wide variety of physiological processes, as a part of enzymes or at the metabolism of sugars, cholesterol, etc. It supports the normal development of cartilage and bones, and participates in the healing process.
